Obituary of Eva Lemik

Herkimer - Mrs. Eva Lemik, 89, of the Mohawk Valley Health Care Center, formerly of Lansing St., Herkimer and a long time resident of Little Falls, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015.
She was born in Lupkow, Poland on December 2, 1925, the daughter of the late John and Anastasia Panko and she attended schools there. She resided in Germany during WWII and was liberated in 1945. She was married to Joseph Lemik on May 18, 1945 in Holstein, Germany. The family came to this country in 1950. Eva and Joe became US citizens in 1960 and shared a blessed union until Joe's passing on September 8, 1991. She was at one time employed by Fibres, Little Focks and Merril Dress Shop in Little Falls. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church in Herkimer.
Eva is survived by two sons and one daughter in law, Lester Lemik of Herkimer and Joseph and Carla Lemik of Putneyville, NY; her beloved grandchildren, Larissa and Theodore Davis, Mackenzie and Michael Silverman, Renee and Scott Milliken and Christopher Lemik; eight great-grandchildren, Channa, Binyamin, Gabriella, Eliyahu, Moshe, Kali, Brooke and Addison; a special cousin, Stephanie Litwen and her daughter, Cheryl Ann Lower; a special former neighbor, Jane Godlewski, her cousin Helen Olson and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Bogus; her daughter Helen; daughter in law, Marlene; two sisters, Mary Zentcska and Anna Wejko; her aunt and uncle, Charles and Mary Litwen and her cousins Theodore Litwen, Julia Kuba and Pauline Shibley.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 8:30 am from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 9:00 am in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Quy Vo. Calling hours will be Monday evening from 5-8 PM in the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home. Interment will be in St Mary's Cemetery.
