Frankfort - Mr. George F. Bianchi, 66, of 207 E. Canal St. passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015 in the Masonic Care Community with his family by his side.
He was born in Ilion on August 31, 1948, the son of the late Frank J. and Katherine Palumbo Bianchi. He attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort Schuyler High School and later attended Albany State University. A musician most of his life, he played the trumpet with the Frankfort Starlighters, CC Riders, Sundowners and was involved with the album by Decca Records. He and his fellow band members toured with Jimi Hendrix and the Monkees and they appeared on the Flying Nun. He was married to Melanie Lynch in August of 1985 in Florida. Melanie passed away on September 20, 1992. George was employed as a Salesman for Fuccillo in Nelliston for many years. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church.
George is survived by one son, Brandon; one sister and brother in law, Kathleen and Dan Anthony of Frankfort; three brothers and two sisters in law, Samuel and Kathie Bianchi and Frank "Bongo" and Lorri Bianchi and Edward Bianchi, all of Frankfort and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His funeral will be held privately in the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort. Spring interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours.
