R.I.P. "My shirt-tail relative"; that's what we always called each other. I'll always remember the fun we had at coffee houses, and the special occasions to hear him sing.

Bill Ferguson has been a true friend to our family for as long as I remember. When I was a little girl I always looked forward to when he would sing in church, especially on Christmas eve. As kids we would always get a kick out of him wearing his kilt for special occasions and he was constantly joking and you never knew what he might say. I am eternally grateful for his friendship and the compassion that he showed to my family especially when my father Raymond Jenkins and my sister Karen were home with hospice. Bill would come often to sit with them and talk and keep them company, even when they could not talk back. He was always there for my mother Dorine, and would cheer her up and keep her going. One time when we were at my mother's and my Dad was in the house with the hospice nurses, he picked my little girl lilacs. It was such a sweet thing to do that she still remembers today. Since my father and sister's passing, Bill continued to be a wonderful friend to my mother and take her places, come for coffee and bring her the newspapers when she could no longer get out easily. Bill made such an impact on so many lives. He will be missed dearly. Rest in Peace Bill.

Bill Ferguson was like an uncle to me... Albeit a crazy uncle that irritated the heck out of you. But I'm seriously going to miss him.

I am allmost at a loss for words. Sarah put it best today that you were like that crazy uncle that every family has and our family definately adopted you as that. Over the last few decades bill was not only part of our community but such an incredible friend not only to my mother Dorine Jenkins, but to our whole family and our church family. I remember him saying to mom after she was recovering from fracturing her spine, that she wouldnt have fell if she was'nt a damn drunk! Whether it was singing in the church with Jane DeRocco on the organ, or the tireless help he allways was to anyone in need.I know that we will miss your wit and humor.

To the Ferguson Family;
I am very sorry for your loss, I have known Billy for over 40 years, he was witty, great personality and most of all, he always had a belly laugh. I enjoyed his singing on many occasions, he was talented. Most Saturday mornings, Billy and I would scout out most of the breakfast diners, talking, drinking coffee. Whenever I called him for coffee to come to my house, he was always there saying to me, "I can't stay long" four hours later, he would say, well I have to go out for dinner now, I would tell him, stay I will cook dinner and he would, turning a short visit from the start to an all day affair. Billy was never lost for words, but he was a very wise and smart man, if you asked him a question and he did not know the answer, he would research your question and the next time he saw you, he had the answer. I remember Billy coming over to my house on Dutch Hill, Frankfort, when I was constructing my in ground pool, to this day (last Thursday) whenever I brought up about the construction of the pool he would chime in and say, "I never went swimming in your pool" when asked why (skinny legs) he would tell me you never invited me, laugh! When I was living in Virginia, Billy enjoyed coming down with us back to Virginia after Thanksgiving staying until we came back up Christmas week, he enjoyed my children, especially Ryan when Billy and Ryan carried plywood up 3 flights of stairs when I was building my house on Jariccho Road, Smithfield, Virginia. Whenever we had a party, Billy was there, most recently, when my children (Ryan, Peter, Matthew) all came home in January, we all went to Joe's Resturant for lunch, making us laugh, man could he eat, haha! Billy was more than just a friend, he was my family, always came to all of our birthday parties, he and I would celebrate our birthdays together, his was July 12 and mine July 13, he always enjoyed a good party. Most of all, Billy always wanted to bring up a small pig to my brothers house to let it run throughout the house, my sister-in-law Paul would yell at him just for thinking to do something like that, Billy would get the biggest kid out of her and laugh all the way home.
Like the circle that my father built his house on (Sunset Dr), so is life, we have watched our grandparents, our parents and now each other fade away. Billy will never be forgotten in my mind or my families, he was always there for us when we needed him the most.
Billy, I will miss you, never forget you, and always think of you and all the great times that we had. With my warmest heart felt symphonies to the Ferguson family, if there is anything that my family can do for you, please do not hesitate to call on us.
Sincerely;
Peter M. Passante, Sr. and Family

Uncle Bill was a very unique man. His was very opinionated about most things and let you know it. I will miss his "yelling"; "where the hell are you" moments when you talked to him or he left you a phone message. Seems like a lifetime ago when he used to come to my house for linquini and clam sauce, shouldn't have stopped doing that. But life happens and you cannot go back. Love you Uncle Billy (even though you "yelled" at me for calling you Billy or if I wrote Billy on a card and such). I will think of you often. Love Paula

What a sad loss for all of Frankfort Center and to anyone who knew Billy Ferguson. I have so many fond memories of him visiting my parents. He was always smiling and brought so much warmth wherever he went. My parents were always so happy to see him, as were all of us. He was such a great guy! (The truth is, I think my parents were secretly hoping he'd marry one of the Inserra girls and then he'd become a bigger part of our family than we all felt he already was.) He will be missed by everyone. How lucky we were to have known him!

My condolences to the Ferguson family, I can remember him calling my mom & dad to tell them come get this dam bull out of my field. He truly was a very soft, kind, gentle, knowledgeable man, but most of all he loved his family.
I'm going to miss our conversations on politics, God & especially the Town of Frankfort. I know you were a friend to me. Thank you for all the support in my campaigns you would call me to say put your signs up in my yard. You are my hero!
Love you big guy and I am going to miss you,
Barko
