Mineko and Naomi,
On behalf of myself and a greatful nation; please accept heartfelt condolences on the passing of Jim...
I came to know Jim when we served together at Kadena AB on Okinawa in early March 1974. I was a newly arrived young A1C on my first overseas tour. The "old Sarge" took me under his wing assisting and guiding me as he thought I should be guided... I kept in touch with Jim until about 2016 after I retired from the military. Jim was truly a good man a fast friend and a true sounding board throughout our friendship. God Bless and keep you both.

To Mineko, Naomi, and friends of Jim Cogar,
Terri and I were saddened to hear of Jim's passing, please accept our deepest condolences. I knew Jim Cogar through his service as Chaplin at Ilion-Frankfort Memorial Post 502 of the VFW. As I worked through the chairs at Post 502, Jim always did his sometimes stressful task as Chaplin with strong professionalism. No time is remembered when Jim did not perform his duty with sincere and caring effectiveness. When it comes to military Veteran support, no person we know is valued more highly. Thank you Sir for your 24 years of Honorable U.S. Air Force service and for your subsequent personal mission as a very fine Military Veteran Support Chaplin and strong program advocate. Rest In Peace old friend.
Very truly yours,
