I was one of Mr. Freedman's 8th grade students @ Roosevelt Elementary back in the 1969-1970 school year. I had a difficult time with math because math was taught so much differently in California (where I had lived for 3 years). So, coming back to NYS, I had a lot of catching up to do. Mr. Freedman was a superb teacher & really helped me understand the subject so much better. He was a Godsend to me! (I also appreciated his dry whit!) Thank you so much, Mr. Freedman.
(I just saw his obituary 3 yrs after the fact, so very sorry for the late posting).

To Karen and Family,
I was born in November, 1941, about 6 months ahead of Ed. He was one of my Best Friends growing up, whether it be through St. Peter & Paul's (Altar Boys, CYO),Youth Baseball, or just "Hanging out".
Once we went off to College, we stayed tight, whether it be in the Summer or Holiday breaks. During those times, we contributed a decent amount to the profitability of the Thurston Restaurant and Grippe's.
After I moved to Rochester in the mid-1960's, our contacts became less frequent, but still we'd have the occasional get-together, such as the 1966 Hamilton- Rochester Football game, where Brother John completed all 9 of his passes in the first half; and our annual Christmas Card exchange.
You are a great guy and I am proud to call you one of my Best Friends ever.

Ed and me both were teachers at Roosevelt School in Utica. We had a running debate as to who had the better handwriting. When we meet again, my friend, we will continue the debate. Francis T. Roy

Karen and family, we are so very sorry for the passing of Eddy. We so enjoyed our skeet time with him over many many years, always looking forward to starting our season in Illion and topping it off with The World in Texas. We will never forget being there when he shot his 250,000 registered skeet target in San Antonio in 2008. He will truly be missed. Sending thoughts and prayers from Utah.

Sorry for your loss....Mr. Freedman was my math teacher at Roosevelt School many, many years ago. Such a nice guy....us kids always tried to make him laugh because he was always so serious. When one of us finally got him to laugh we were all excited. Nice memories of a great man.

My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family.
I shot skeet with Ed. He did so much for the Ilion Club.
Now he can shoot skeet with all his buddies that went before him.
