Ilion - Mrs. Consuelo Maria "Connie" Chuff, 59, of 2748 St Rt 51 passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010 in her home.
She was born in Niagara Falls on June 16, 1951, the daughter of Edmond and Consuelo Llama Savidge. She attended and graduated from Fountain Valley High School, Ca. and received her Bachelors Degree in English from Cal State University, Fullerton, Ca and her Masters Degree in Reading Education from SUNY Oswego. Connie was married to Nicholas Chuff on July 26, 1980 in St. Theresa's Church, Frankfort Center. Connie taught Reading to Pre First Grade, First, Second and Third Grade for many years. She began her teaching career at Huntington Beach, Ca., Department of Defense, Seoul, Korea, Fischer Elementary School, Mohawk and lastly Remington Elementary School, Ilion. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member Delta Kappa Gamma, Ilion Food Pantry, Ilion Foundation, Catholic Charities,Historical Club, Ilion, American Association of University Women and Ilion Meals on Wheels program
Connie is survived by her beloved husband, Nicholas Chuff; one son, Matthew Chuff at home; her father & mother, Edmond and Consuelo Savidge of Westminster, CA; one sister, Linda Savidge of Westminster, her sister in law who was like her sister & brother in law, Mary Lynne & Douglas VanVliet of Castleton, NY; two nephews, Bryan VanVliet and Tim VanVliet; her good friends, Carol Congilaro, Carol Bracken, Jody Janiki, Grace Osborne, MaryEl Wallace, Vicky Krenichyn, Kathy Murphy, Cheryl Robinson, Joanne French, Maggie Wesoleski, Wendy Jackson & the girls at the Salon, Mary Day, Patty Day and Mary Lamphere and several cousins.
Her funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 2:00 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Alfred Lamanna, pastor emeritus assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-8 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
Connie asked for a very special thank you to her Doctors, Dr. Kuzminski, Dr. Braven, Dr. Thomas, Dr. Jederlinic, Dr. Campbell, Dr. Mooney, Dr. Cramer, Dr. Kruse, Dr. Hogden and Dr. Priem and her Nurses, Doreen, Mary Ann, Crystal, Michele, Kelly, Barb, Brittany, Robin, Pat, Sandy, Gen, Dawn, Jim, Dana, Melissa, Mary, Reggie and Lou.
