Art was a tremendous school chum whom I knew at John F. Hughes School and UFA. Your loss was great, and I am sorry.

I remember Art and knew him very well. He played horn with the Blackhawks Drum & Bugle Corps and after that he was a part of the Great Magnificent Yankees Drum & Bugle Corps Staff from 1961 to 1967. Art traveled many times with us and what I really liked about him was that he had a real good sense of humor. Art seamed much younger then the other grown ups that traveled with us kids. Art actually related to all of us kids. Many times when we were getting yelled at for something I saw him turn his head and laugh. Art was a kid at heart and he knew and saw the fun in the things we did. Art understood that we were all good kids just fooling around and being kids. Art appreciated our fun and joined in with us kids. Art knew the difference of kids like us having fun with each other and playing tricks on our staff and the kids that were out stealing cars and robbing liquor stores. Those were great times and Art loved our shows as much as us kids did. He was one of us! I appreciated his sense of humor and I for one will never forget him. Please rest in peace my friend and now enjoy your new drum coprs with your friends already up in heaven.
PS: Art, be sure to say Hi to our friends Charlie Pronto and Kurt Krieger.
