Frank, Tammy, Joleen, Tina, and family:
Please accept our heartfelt condolences on Donna's untimely passing. As contemporary members of Ilion-Frankfort VFW Post 502 leadership and staff, both Terri and I remember Donna's volunteerism and quick readiness to assist with various post veteran support programs. As a loving mother, Donna would frequently relate pleasant stories of her recent family activities. We remember Donna's classic broad smile. Sadly, the local community is a bit poorer today on Donna's passing.

Tina, I am so very sorry to hear about your Mom. Some of your caring coworkers, like me, also lost a parent over the last year or so. We have an idea of what you and your family are going through. Though I recognize going through something like this is personal to each of us. Please find comfort in knowing that we care and our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours at this most difficult time. I know I only know you as a coworker, but I also consider you a friend. It is a joy to work with you and I would like to help any way I can; just ask.
Dealing with the grief of losing my Mom last October at the young age of 69 to oral cancer, I wrote this poem and would like to share it with you and your siblings. I hope you can see some of your Mom within:
Mom, Always There
From the Day I was Born
Mom was always there
On the Days I was most Curious
Mom was always there
If I found myself Scared or Confused
Mom was always there
When I got Sick or got a Booboo
Mom was always there
Like it or not during my Teens
Mom was always there
Through my worst days of Sadness
Mom was always there
During times I was Happiest
Mom was always there
For Graduations and Weddings
Mom was always there
With the arrival of her Grandchildren
Mom was always there
Not to forget the Great-Grandchildren
Mom was always there
Since the Day She went to Heaven
Mom, I am sure, is always there
From my Voice when I Speak
Mom, I am sure, is always there
Looking in the Mirror, I can plainly See
Mom, I am sure, is always there
Siblings, Nieces and Nephews are further Proof
Mom, I am sure, is always there
Though we do not have Her with us on Earth
Mom, I am sure, is always there
Through us Kids, Her Teachings, Love, and Kindness
Mom, I am sure, is and always will be there
