Frankfort - Mr. Reid A. Marrotta, 56, of 413 Second Ave Ext passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 3, 2008 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Utica on June 23, 1952, the son of the late Albert and Marion McClusky Marrotta. He attended Utica schools and graduated from UFA with the class of 1970 and later attended MVCC and HCCC. Reid was married to Catherine Aiello on June 11, 1983 in St. Mary's Church by the Rev. Alfred Lamanna. Mr. Marrotta was at one time employed by Pin O'Rama, Utica and later as an indexer for DFAS, Rome. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. Reid was devoted to his family and was an avid NY Giants fan.
Reid is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Catherine Marrotta; his cherished daughter and son, Alexis Marrotta and Matthew Marrotta both at home; his sister, Rhoda Marchefka of Utica; two brothers and one sister in law, Mark Marrotta and Dean & Joanne Marrotta all of Cocoa, FL; his father in law, Angelo Aiello of Frankfort; his sisters in law and brothers in law, Salvatore Aiello of Warwick, RI and Angelo & Valerie Aiello of Herkimer and Karen Aiello of San Juan Capistrano, CA and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother in law, Antoinette Aiello and his brother in law, Joseph Aiello.
His funeral will be held Friday morning at 9:30 from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:00 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Alfred Lamanna, pastor emeritus and assisted by Deacon James Bowers. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday 5-7 at V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
