Mr. Frank Custy Castellano
Frankfort - Mr. Frank Custy Castellano, 83, of 220 Fourth Ave. passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 in Masonic Home with his family by his side.
He was born in Frankfort on June 17, 1932, the son of the late Joseph and Anna Carbone Castellano and he attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort Schuyler High School with the class of 1950. Following his military career he attended Mohawk Valley Technical Institute (MVCC) and received his degree in Electrical Management. He served with the US Naval Air Corps and was Honorably Discharged in 1955. He was married to Mary J. Iavarone on April 7, 1956 in St. Monica's Church, NYC. Mary passed away on December 16, 2005. Frank was employed as the Administrator of Frankfort Power and Light from 1957-1967, Executive Vice President of NYS Jaycees 1967-1977, the Executive Director of the NYS Jaycees Foundation and served as the Director of Admissions for the Hugh O'Brien Youth Foundation, Los Angeles, CA. He was the owner and operator of Custy's Last Stand, Frankfort for many years. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a life member of the NYS and National Senate for the Jaycees. He was the recipient of JCI Senator ship the highest award bestowed by Junior Chamber of Commerce, US Ambassadorship the highest award bestowed by the United States Jaycees.
Frank is survived by one daughter and son in law, Natalie and Donald Almond of Frankfort; three sons and daughters in law, Joseph and Linda Castellano, Frank and Connie Castellano and James and Anna Maria Castellano all of Frankfort, his grandchildren, Donald Almond and his fiancée, Patricia Lora, David and his wife, Julie Almond, Nadine and her husband, Ben Ripp, Natalie Almond, Lisa Castellano, Sara Castellano, Joseph Castellano Jr, Ronald Castellano, Frank Castellano Jr, Donald Castellano, Dominick Castellano, Carly Castellano, Jamie Castellano and Nicholas Castellano; five great grandchildren, Emily Almond, Danielle Almond, Melanie Almond, Hailey Crandall and Logan Almond; one brother and sister in law, Joseph and Patricia Castellano of FL three sisters and one brother in law, Mary Ann Castellano of Frankfort, Rita De Santis of Utica and Margaret and Peter Sebregandio of FL; his brother in law, Aldo Iavarone of NJ; Custy's close friends, Tommy Della Posta, Jim Romeo, Anthony Palumbo, Steve Salamone,Sal Di Christina, Julio And Anna Abrezzesc and a very special friend and thanks to Kelly Thomas and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 12:15 from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 1:00 in Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
Custy's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Masonic Home's Saratoga Unit and his home healthcare Aides for the wonderful care shown to him over the past few years.
