Bessie was employed at General Electric , Herkimer County Cheese and later at the Elite Corp, Ilion for over 30 years of service. She also was the owner and operator of Bessie's Beauty Salon, Frankfort. She was a Girl Scout Leader, worked at the Canteen for the American Red Cross. She loved to play golf, bowl and she had won many trophies, dance, travel both abroad and in Florida and go to the casino especially the Mohican Sun.
