To Rosalie's Family and to her loving companion, John:
Paul and I are so saddened by the passing of our classmate, Rosalie. She was such a special person and truly is with God. We had such a wonderful time at our 50th Class Reunion in August. She initially didn't want to attend but ended up coming to all the events, each one with a color-coordinated outfit, looking like a fashion model. At the dinner dance on Saturday night, she entered the hall wearing a beautiful blond wig - she put us all to shame and we were so happy for her. I am sure in Heaven she will look like the beautiful person she always was, inside and out. We will truly miss her. Mayme and Paul Palumbo

Dear Rosalie Campulugo Stark, went with me to the Abbey of the Genesee Monastery, where i met Priest and Author Henri Nouwen many years ago, Ro and I enjoyed reading many of his writings together, this passage from ÒIn MemoriamÓ was a favorite of Rosalia. May her spirit and deep faith, be an example for her loved ones to draw closer to God, day by day.
Closer to me than ever...
Questions became very real to me in those confusing weeks after motherÕs death. I said to myself,Ó this is a time of waiting for the Spirit of truth to come, and woe unto me if, by forgetting her, I prevent her from doing GodÕs work in me.Ó I sensed that something much more than a final act of remembering was at stake, much more than honoring of my dead mother, much more than a holding on to her beautiful example. Very specifically, what was at stake was the life of the spirit to me. To remember her does not mean telling her story over and over again to my friends, nor does it mean pictures on the wall or a stone on her grave; it does not even mean constantly thinking about her. No. It means making her a participant in GodÕs ongoing work of redemption by allowing her to dispel in me a little more of my darkness and lead me a little closer to the LIGHT. In these weeks of mourning she died in me more and more every day, making it impossible for me to cling to her as my mother. Yet by letting her go I did not lose her. Rather, I found that she is closer to me than ever. In and through the Spirit of Christ, she indeed in becoming a part of my very being.
Rev. Father Henri Nouwen 1931-1996

Dear John and Rosalie's children and grandchildren - Please accept our heartfelt sympathy. She was a classmate of our class of 1957 and also a lifelong friend. As others have said we will always have the memory of those four days in August,2007. The fun that we had with her and John will not be forgotten. We have all of our pictures of her and John having fun, dancing and laughing. I hope now she is in peace after the suffering these last few months. With love to all - Nancy and John Spina

Kim and Family,
I was saddened to hear about your mother this morning. She was a wonderful woman. I truly enjoyed the time spent with her, both throughout school and after. Her wit and infectious laugh will be missed by many, but it's comforting to know that she is once again with your father. May God be with you all during this time.

To the family and friends of Rosalie. I can't begin to tell you how much Ro was loved and how much she will be missed. I graduated with Ro way back in 1957. She was one heck of a great classmate, going to all the various sport events, attending all the dance functions, and sharing a moment a the old hangouts, Cootsies and Terzos where we use to dance the afternoons away. But the memory that I will carry in my heart of Ro is being with her at our classes 50th reunion last August. She was so beautiful, attending all four of our events. God it was so good seeing and talking to her after all these years. I can honestly say that she is now in Heaven with here family and classmates that have gone on before us. Heaven just became an even better place to live. God Bless....Chip
