I graduated from high school with Max and was very saddened to hear of his passing! We were in many classes together and usually ended up sitting near each other when we were seated alphabetically. I always got a charge out of his banter with our teachers; he really kept them on their toes!
I want to extend to you, his family, my heartfelt condolences, and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

This is the guy I babysat when we were all much younger!!The one who scared me with the bear skin in the attic!! What a shock to read in the Juniata Sentinel that he had passed away. I am very saddened but want the family to know that I had some great memories of my time with the whole family. My very deepest sympathy to all.

Dearest Max, always in my heart and in my prayers. I love you always. To Max's family, he was always a loving, giving person. I've only known him a short time, but he taught me the true meaning of life. I am very sorry for your loss.

I am shocked and saddened at the loss of my friend, Max. He was such a nice guy and great friend...and proud Dad. Many a good time was had sitting on the deck of our camp with my husband & I, sharing a few brews, good food and conversation. I will miss his emails ... especially the ones about "Hillary"...and I will miss seeing him at the office (Moore & Hart) as he was so often there helping us with one computer issue or another...he had become one of us. Deepest sympathy to Matt and family. Geri & Ed LaBarge, Utica, NY

We wanted to send our sincere sympathy to all of you. My husband and Max were best of friends. They took many fishing trips together or would just get together on a Saturday and go out and enjoy the weather and fish. They didn't care if they did not catch anything, but rather enjoyed each others company. I do know that Max was a very PROUD FATHER . He always spoke of his son with much pride and was extremely proud of his accomplishments. I do know that my husband will severely miss his friend and fishing will not be the same. My husband only has a few best friends and I would of considered Max to be one of them. He has been a friend for many years. Please know that Max will live on forever in my husbands heart and every time he does fish he will remember his good friend MAX. With deepest Sympathy. The Gifford Family-Herkimer

I'm very sorry and sad for the loss of Max. He was a great man and a friend to all. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met. I didn't know him very long, but he brightened my day, I looked forward to seeing his smiling face. He was a great conversationalist, I enjoyed his company more than words could say. I shall miss him dearly.
