I loved my Uncle Ed for so many reasons. Mostly, because he made us feel so welcome whenever our family visited. Uncle Ed had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to keep the smiles coming. Calling me "City Slicker" was his delight. (I'm sure I wasn't the only one to be called that.)
His farm was an oasis for our family - warm cozy kitchen filled with family, good food, and great conversations - farm full of cows, pigs and wonderful work dogs - fields and acreage to meander and enjoy. He loved sharing it and we loved being with him and Aunt Elaine and his wonderful Mom and our cousins.
A dear man - who will be sorely missed by us - all.XXX Cousin Ginny Sauer and family

Dear Mrs Kroll, Peggy, Nora, Eddy, and of of your families,
So sorry for your loss. Mom called this morning to tell me she read about Mr Kroll in the telegram. Coincidentally I lost my Dad on JULY 8th of last year. Back in the day Mr Kroll hired me as a 15 yr old to do odd jobs on the farm. He was a very kind, hardworking man. It was there that I realized that farmers were the salt of the earth. I have often thought of the Kroll family on my visits back to NY and the lake. I occasionally would pass by the farm and reminisce of those days long gone.( my family and I have been in Pittsburgh for 25 yrs). Mr Kroll left a mark on my life of God, family and hard work. You are all in my prayers at this sorrowful time. He is at peace and you will meet again. Mr Kroll, say Hi to my Pop for me...tell him I miss him.
With Sympathy,
Herk Platts Jr.
