My condolences to all of Wanda's family members, especially her son's Chad and Shawn. It's true, the sauquoit valley has lost one of their most admired, respected and loved citizens. From my perspective, as far as people go, Wanda was the "real deal"! She never failed to acknowledge those she knew. This was done with a friendly wave and a Hey,which was generally followed by the persons last name. I also remember a black and red checked hat with a fishing line, complete with hook, which hung from the hat. She of course, being Wanda, wore this hat to church. Who else but Wanda would dare? She also challenged the neighborhood kids to do well in school by occasionally offering a prize for the best report card, and if i remember correctly it was Edith (Sister) Furnell, who usually won. She truely was special and will be greatly missed.

This world will never be the same without Wanda. I can't bear the thought that I will never again here the words, "Hey Canfield" As far as I am concerned Clayville will never be the same without Wanda. My sister and I remember going to the Lakeside Tavern as kids with our mother and Angie, Patty & Valerie Burns. We remember the pickled eggs and orange soda. We remember Wanda letting us go into the kitchen and helping make pizza. We remember her chasing "big dudes" out of the bar with a broom. She is one in a million. To me Wanda is Clayville. I have known her all my life and I love her and will miss her greatly. She is the first thing I would look for when I entered St. Patrick's church on Sunday morning. Wanda is the hardest working person I have ever known in my life. I am sure that her and Jesus are having some good times and laughs in heaven right now. If only I could be more like her. God Bless Her. May she rest in Peace. Peggy (Canfield) Peck & Lynda (Canfield) Royal.

Chad, Shawn and family: I don't know what I can say about your mother that hasn't been said over and over. She was a unique person who made everyone feel good. Even though I didn't see her often in recent years, whenever I did she made me feel like it was just yesterday when we last talked. I always felt better after seeing her. The world was a better place for having had her in it and I can't imagine it without her. My thoughts amd prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.

Dear Shawn, Chad, Peni, Michele & Family,
Veronica and I were very sorry to hear about the passing of Shawn and Chad's mom and our neighbor. Having experienced the passing of both of my parents, I can appreciate and empathize with your sense of pain and loss. It's something that you're never prepared for regardless of circumstances.
I have added you and your family to my daily devotional and prayer list. In addition, when I attend mass on Sunday I will add you and your family to our parish book of prayers.
It's very difficult to say good-bye to one's mom. I know because I've been there. May our good Lord watch over, bless and protect you and your family as you endure this most difficult time in your lives.
God Bless you and your family.

To Wanda's wonderful family: We were so sad to hear about your loss. She was one very special lady! Our family has many wonderful memories of good times over the years that we will always cherish! She was a very hard-working lady, never one to sit around and feel sorry for herself. She was very proud of her family and always filled us in on all of your activities when we would get together. We will miss our get-togethers when we were in Clayville visiting and enjoyed every minute of it. We know some of the heartache you are going through as our mom just recently passed away. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Dear Chad and Michele, Shawn and Peni,
I am truly saddened to learn of your Mother's passing. My fondest memories of her are of a vibrant and energetic person who cared deeply for her family and the world around her.
I have many dear memories of her, but one of my favorites is of the time she helped me look for my lost wristwatch in the snowy parking lot of St. Patrick's at dusk one cold February night. She found it for me and assured me it would be ok, even though it had been covered in snow.
The watch was my first, given to me by my grandparents for Christmas one year. Thanks to your Mother, I went on to have it for many more years.
An incredible woman. I am honored to have known her.
Blessings to all of you,
Edith Gendron

Chad, Shawn and family,
We were very sorry to hear of Wanda's death. She has been a great friend and next door neighbor for the past 16 years. Don and I have been through the loss of all our parents, and our boys looked on Wanda as a "grandmother," since they have no living grandparents. Wanda loved their little visits and enjoyed giving them treats, watching them learn to swim, ride a bike, etc.
Your mom was always very kind and helpful to us. We miss talking with her. The boys always looked for her in church, and I know she enjoyed watching Kevin serve as an altar boy at St. Patrick's, and seeing him, Jonathan and Jordan make their first communion.
Your mom had more energy than people half her age, and certainly kept active throughout her life! She was a great lady, and we will miss her a lot.
She talked of all of you and our children often, and was very proud of all your accomplishments.
Wanda and all of you are in our prayers.
With sympathy,
Kathy & Don Montano, Kevin, Jonathan and Jordan
