To the family of John Provinski,
I would like to offer my sincere sympathy to the family. I worked in front of John in the Research Model shop. John helped me get started as an apprentice Model Maker and I appreciated him a lot. For the past few years he was coming up to the Moose River plains primitive Rendezvous. It was here that I was a participant sleeping in a tipi with my son. I was very surprised to see him. He came into my tipi and we visited for some quite a while. He took many pictures of us and I have a few of the pictures that he gave me.
John was a very good Model Maker and a good teacher. I owe a lot to him for his patience trying to teach me things that to him were easy but to me a mystery at the time. It was many years after his retirement that I saw him again. John would always look me up at the rendezvous and we would sit and have a good talk. The last time that he was there he said that his legs were bothering him and maybe he wouldn't bother coming the folowing October; I believe that was last year.
My prayers are with you, and I feel honored that I knew him for the length of time that I had.
God bless, Cliff Williams

I consider myself to be truley blessed and the luckiest man alive to have known John. In the beginnings of my tenure at the Herkimer County Conservation Alliance, John would always tell me to hang in there and pass on my love of the outdoors to our youth. Something I live with today. John will be sadly missed by a multitude of people, for me, i will miss his smile and knowledge. Till we meet again John,Rest in peace!

John was one of the finest sportsmen, in the truest sense of the word, I have ever had the honor and pleasure to know. His willingness to share knowledge, added to his wonderful sense of humor and dedication to conservation, insure that this true Gentleman will be missed by all who knew him for many, many years. Rest in peace, my ol' friend.
