Mr. John K. Provinski
Herkimer - John K. Provinski, 92, of 307 Pleasant Ave, passed away peacefully, Sunday, February 19, 2006 in Valley Health Services, Herkimer.
He was born on April 9, 1913 in Little Falls, the son of the late John and Antonia Provinski. He was educated in Little Falls schools. John was married to Helen Szczerva on April 14, 1940 in St. Mary´s Church, New York Mills.
He was employed as a tool maker for Remington Arms, Ilion. John was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer. He also was a member of the N.Y.S. Outsdoorman Hall of Fame, East Herkimer Fish and Game Club, Remington Arms 25 Years Club and Polish Community Home, Inc. John served in the United States Navy during World War II.
John is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Helen; his sons and daughters-in-law, John Paul & Leona Provinski of Unionville, PA and William John & Darlee Provinski of Fairport; his sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Mazur of Arizona and Gladys & James DeLuis of Little Falls; his grandchildren, Karen & James Conlan of Landenberg, PA and Matthew Provinski of Unionville, PA; his great granddaughter, Leia Conlan and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Louise Gorski.
His funeral will be held 9 AM, Wednesday from Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 9:30 AM in Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church, Herkimer, where a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Anthony Ligato. Interment will be in St Stanislaus & Casimer Cemetery, Wood Road, Whitesboro. At John's request there will be no public calling hours.
