Obituary of Joseph F. Dzedzej

Mr. Joseph Dzedzej Frankfort - Mr. Joseph Dzedzej, 86, of 229 Third Ave passed away Sunday, February 27, 2005 peacefully in his home with his children by his side. He was born in New York Mills on December 19, 1918, the son of the late John and Mary Ryczek Dzedzej and attended schools there. Following his schooling, Joe served with the Civilian Concservation Corps. He later served his country during World War II with the US Army in the Pacific Theater and was Honorably Discharged on August 7, 1945 as a Tech 4. He was married to Frances A. Galowitz on April 7, 1945 in Sts. Peter And Paul Church, Frankfort. Mrs.Dzedzej passed away on July 26, 2001. He was employed by Univac as a Supervisor for many years in both the Ilion and Uitca Plants and later as a Supervisor of the Parts Service Department for MDS, Herkimer until his retirement in 1985. he was a Communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostle's Church. Joseph is survived by one daughter, Jean Sherwig of Tillson, NY; one son & daughter in law, John & Gloria Dzedzej of Burnsville, MN; two sisters and one brother in law, Frances Bohenek of Clinton and Emily & Richard Bootier of FL; two grandchildren, Jason Dzedzej and Katy Dzedzej; one great grandson, Hunter Dzedzej and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son in law, John Sherwig on September 7, 1996 and two sisters, Helen Dzedzej and Josephine Starczewski. His funeral will be held at a later date in Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church where a Mass of Chistian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. John Yanas. Spring interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Richfield Springs. There will be no public calling hours. His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V. J.
