As I drove home this evening I was taken back... I remember 1962. We moved into an apartment around the corner from the Eastern Ave homestead. Our greeting from the community in general was what would be expected as the civil rights movement was just underway and the 'I have a dream' speech was yet to be delivered, with one memorable exception. I remember milk and cookies in Roseanne's kitchen. I remember the grin and the spunk. I remember the threat of a backhand, (never delivered), right along with her own boys when we may have been just a little out of control. To be treated as a normal kid. I remember that time fondly, for in a society that seemed hostile on every side to a young boy, I remember feeling...safe in the kitchen of Roseanne Long. There is a place in heaven for people like her. May you all experience God's peace at this time.

I have started this several times, and then deleted it because no words can describe how I feel about Roseanne. She is my Shining Star, and I love her very, very much. As everyone else said on here, she really was an Angel. But what I'll cherish the most is that she was also hysterically funny, quick witted and full of spunk. Roseanne seemed to have a permanent twinkle in her eyes and a spirit of a much younger woman in her heart. I thank you each & all for sharing her with me during your family getaways together. I am a better person for knowing her.

Uncle Don, David, Kenny, Dougy, Joey, Tommy, Timmy and Donna: Tom called me yesterday and told me of Aunt Roseanne's passing. My deepest sympathies for your loss. I cannot attend services today due to my own illness, otherwise I would be there... I as well as my brother have great memories of our childhood visits from our cousins in Herkimer and remember the Thanksgiving after my Dad passed going to Herkimer . Aunt Roseanne was the only one from My Dad's side after his passing that reached out to my Mom and our family and kept our memories of life with my Dad close to heart. I appreciate how wonderful a person she was. You kids & grandkids hold onto the memories through this difficult time. The sadness and sorrow will be replaced through those memories of funny stories and joyful moments that you have spent together as a family. You will always miss her. May those memories wash over you with godspeed. God Bless you all, and Tommy, please keep in touch I miss you. Cousin Carol, Waterford NY

Roseanne and I worked together at MVGH and Little Falls Hospital. She was an Angel to all my patients who were frightened and scared. She was their serrogate mother. She never had an unkind word.
Brightening the lives of everyone who knew her, Roseanne will be missed. But she will NEVER be forgotten. My Condolences to the Long family.

Donna and Family,
How saddened I was to see that your mother had passed. Although it has been many years, I remember how it was obvious she was such a good and caring mother to you and your siblings. Though sorrow sweeps through you now, take solace that she is with her Savior and is at peace. God bless you and yours.

Mrs. Long worked as a Nurses Aide at Herkimer Memorial Hospital, Mohawk Valley General Hospital. Mohawk Valley Nursing Home and lastly for Little Falls Hospital until her retirement in 1996. She was a true angel to all those she cared for.
For many years she was an Election Inspector for Herkimer's District 4.
Roseanne was a wonderful and loving mother who welcomed all her children's friends into her home. She was an avid hockey fan and especially enjoyed Clinton Comets games. Roseanne was a warm, cheerful and beautiful personwho was loved by all and will be greatly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
